Monument Dedicated to COVID-19 Victims, Essential Workers and First Responders
A monument memorializing victims of COVID-19 and honoring essential workers, health care professionals and first responders was dedicated today by members of the Camelot Neighborhood Association.
To celebrate their 40th anniversary in 2019, members of the organization planned to commemorate the occasion with a monument placed at the community's entrance. As the COVID-19 pandemic was underway, the organization decided change the monument to become a memorial as well. The project was funded in part by Garland's Office of Neighborhood Vitality, that partners with neighborhood associations across the City to help improve the quality of life and property values in their neighborhoods.
